Nod to 17 proposals by Odisha Cabinet

The state cabinet of Odisha headed by CM Naveen Patnaik, approved to as many as 17 proposals in various sectors today.

In a major decision, the cabinet has approved ‘limited water storage in riverbed’ project to strengthen the water supply for the people of Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts. The project will be implemented with an investment of Rs 344.67 crore. The project involves construction of anicuts on river Mahanadi at Chaudhuri Gada village in Jagatsinghpur and on Paika river at Tikhri in Kendrapada district. This will ensure supply of drinking and domestic water supply to around 89 villages in both districts.

A proposal for setting up an Eye Hospital (Shankar Eye Hospital) near Hinjlicut, Ganjam district was also approved by the cabinet.

Another proposals include, increase in grant-in-aid period of upper primary school teachers and extension of the period aided private high schools in the state.

The state cabinet also approved the Odisha MSME Development Policy 2022 that will accelerate the growth of enterprises in the MSME sector.

The proposal also involves initiate flight services from Bhubaneswar to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok was also approved by the Cabinet.
