The Odisha government has allotted land to seven tourism projects in the state. The land allotted would likely to amounting to Rs 354.34 crore will be utilised to boost the tourism potential of the state.
The sanction was made during the meeting held by the land allotment committee headed by Chief Secretary AP Padhi on 06th June 2019. Also, it was directed that, the Tourism Ministry should fix the commencement and commissioning timeline for each project.
The projects sanctioned land include, a Golf Resort project worth Rs 125 crore, at Satpada near Chilika Lake, Puri by Mayfair Hotels and Resorts Ltd., Gopalpur Palm Resort project entailing investment Rs.64.58 crore, at Udayapur, Ganjam by Swosti Vacations Club Pvt. Ltd., a 4-star hotel project at Trisulia by Lalchand Resorts Pvt. Ltd. with investment of Rs 54.50 crore, a resort at Gopalpur by Luxurio Assets with investment of Rs 49.80 crore and a resort at Tampara, Ganjam by Lifeline Multi Venture Pvt. Ltd. with investment of Rs 49.80 crore.
A proposed water park at Basantpur near Sambalpur by Aquamagic Water Amusement Park worth Rs 7.50 crore, a Theme Park and a Resort near Rourkela by Krishna Holdings with investment of Rs 3.16 crore.
Total land required for the projects will be 79.5 acre, of which the government has decided to allot around 42.5 acres.
Meanwhile, the allottees were asked to commission the projects within three years from the date of taking possession of the land.
