MCL sets up eco-park and museum in Jharsuguda

Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL) has set up an eco-park and a museum over a closed underground mine in Jharsuguda as part of green initiative.

The park named after, freedom fighter Chandra Shekar Azad eco-park and coal museum are situated at mine number 4 of Orient Area in Ib Valley coalfields in Jharsuguda. The park was developed by MCL in record time of just more than a year soon after the coal and Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi laid the foundation stone in 2021.

The park was created after repurposing coal mine number 4, where construction had closed down in 2017. The visitors can visit the park and avail the opportunity of having a first hand experience of an underground mine.
