
The Odisha State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) recently greenlit 11 industrial projects valued at Rs 3,266 crore. These projects are expected to create job opportunities for approximately 9,000 individuals. The approved initiatives will be strategically located in various districts across the state, including Balasore, Bolangir, Kalhandi, Khurda, and Jajpur.
One of the significant investments is being made by Himadri Speciality Chemical Limited, which is setting up its inaugural chemical manufacturing unit in Odisha with a whopping investment of over Rs 980 crore. Concurrently, Nestle is venturing into the region with a food processing unit, committing over Rs 890 crore to the project.
Colortone Garments Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of First Step Baby-Wear, has an ambitious plan to establish an integrated apparel manufacturing facility along with a 1.2 MW rooftop captive solar power plant. This venture is set to receive an investment of over Rs 200 crore.
Another noteworthy proposal approved by the state is IDVB Recycling Operations Pvt Ltd., which aims to establish a new unit for recycled pet flakes and recycled per resin products, with an investment of Rs 318 crore.
Purv Packaging Pvt. Ltd. and RDB Rasayans Ltd. are also part of the approved projects, investing Rs 152 crore and Rs 59 crore, respectively. Purv Packaging Pvt. Ltd. is establishing a new manufacturing unit for plastic caps, pet preforms, and allied products, while RDB Rasayans Ltd. is setting up a new manufacturing unit.
Beekay Utkal Steel Pvt. Ltd. and IFGL Refractories Ltd. are contributing to the industrial development with an investment of over Rs 260 crore each. IFGL Refractories Limited is adding its second unit in the state, while metal downstream company Beekay Utkal Steel is proposing its third unit in Odisha.
Additionally, Nisum Consulting Pvt. Ltd. received the green light for its IT & ESDM sector proposal, which involves a substantial investment of Rs 200 crore.
With these projects receiving approval and substantial investments, Odisha’s industrial landscape is expected to flourish, offering economic growth and employment opportunities for thousands of people across the state.
