The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of Odisha has given the green signal to eight exciting industrial proposals, collectively valued at approximately Rs. 1,250 crore, spread across various districts. This momentous decision was taken during the 120th meeting of SLSWCA, presided by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena in Bhubaneswar on 25th July 2023.
These groundbreaking projects are projected to create employment opportunities for a substantial workforce of 3,640 individuals within the state. The following are the projects that have received approval:
- BK International Private Limited: A dynamic venture aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit for socks in Khurda, with a significant investment of Rs. 52 crore.
- Mamta Fabrics Pvt Ltd: In an ambitious effort, Mamta Fabrics will set up a top-notch readymade garments manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs. 50 crore in Khurda.
- Metal Downstream Products Manufacturer (Name undisclosed): This visionary enterprise will establish a pioneering manufacturing unit at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur to produce 1,80,000 steel doors and windows, along with other cutting-edge products. The total investment for this project is Rs. 147.64 crore.
- Nezone Tubes Utkal Limited: With a commitment to growth and expansion, Nezone Tubes Utkal Limited will extend its existing facility at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur by establishing a manufacturing unit for 1,60,000 metric tonnes of MS square and rectangular pipes and tubes. The investment for this venture is Rs. 105 crore.
- Vedanta Limited: Vedanta Limited is set to establish a 4.5 million tonne per annum iron ore beneficiation plant in Koida, Sundargarh, with an estimated cost of Rs. 80 crore.
- Grain-Based Ethanol Plants: In a significant stride towards sustainable practices, three undisclosed entities will collectively invest Rs. 814.54 crore to set up grain-based ethanol plants in Balangir, Sonepur, and Nabarangpur districts.
This recent development marks a promising leap forward for Odisha’s industrial landscape, fostering economic growth, and paving the way for a brighter future. The projects’ approval showcases the state’s commitment to attract investments and create abundant employment opportunities for its people.
