Odisha HLCA approves seven major proposals

In a significant development, the Odisha government has granted approval to seven major projects, attracting a substantial investment of Rs 80,125 crore. The decision, made during a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, spans various sectors such as steel, green energy, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

These projects, strategically located in key districts including Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, and Bhadrak, are expected to usher in a new wave of economic growth and job opportunities for the region.

Granules Life Sciences Private Limited has proposed a groundbreaking pharmaceutical unit at Tata SEZ, Gopalpur in Ganjam district, with an investment of Rs 1,100 crore. The venture aims to produce 4 billion units of paracetamol, metformin, ibuprofen, and other pharmaceutical products, potentially creating jobs for around 1,500 people.

Another noteworthy project is Granules CZRO Private Limited’s plan to establish a chemical plant for pharmaceutical products at Tata SEZ, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, expected to provide employment for approximately 1,000 individuals.

In the green energy sector, EG Solwin Hybrid Private Limited is set to invest Rs 6,330 crore in establishing a 0.30 MT green ammonia production unit at Tata SEZ, creating jobs for 1,050 people.

ACME Greentech Urja Private Limited is contributing to the renewable energy landscape with an integrated manufacturing unit in Khurda, focused on producing solar power panels. This ambitious project, backed by an investment of Rs 36,000 crore, is poised to generate employment for approximately 6,300 people.

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited, India’s leading solar panel manufacturer, is set to invest Rs 12,480 crore in a 1.20 MMTPA green ammonia plant in Jagatsinghpur. This move is expected to create job opportunities for 3,250 people.

In a major expansion initiative, Action Ispat is gearing up to increase its steel production capacity from 0.37 MTPA to 7.5 MTPA at its Jharsuguda plant. With an investment of Rs 21,000 crore, this expansion is projected to provide job opportunities for an additional 10,000 people.

OFB Tech Private Limited is also set to contribute to job creation by establishing a manufacturing unit at Dhamra in Bhadrak, with an investment of Rs 1,615 crore.
