CM inaugurates two projects and performs ground-breaking for 17 projects

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated two projects and performed ground breaking for 17 project in the state on 17 February 2023. The investment intent for the projects was announced during the Make In Odisha Conclave 2022.

These 19 projects together with an estimated investment of Rs 1,650 crore are likely to generate 400 employment opportunities in the sectors like plastic, sea food processing, manufacturing, tourism, IT and ESDM, refractory, agro and food processing, pharmaceuticals and steel downstream.

The two projects inaugurated are in the plastic sector one by Supreme Industries, and another by Ashirvad Pipes Private Limited. Both projects are to be coming up in Cuttack district and expected to generate 470 employment opportunities in the sector.

Of the 17 projects for which ground-breaking was performed, 6 projects are in the food processing sector namely Sao Breweries and Distilleries Private Limited, Indian Potash Ltd, Globus Spirits Ltd, Oriclean Private Limited, Amrit Dhara Nutrifoods LLP and DN Sea Shells Pvt. Ltd. These project will incur an estimated investment of Rs 803.60 crore and generate employment opportunities to 1459 persons.

Another three projects are from manufacturing sector, includes modular kitchen unit, workstation and PET Preforms and Closures for the F&B industries. This will witness an investment of Rs 293.34 crore and is likely to generate 243 employment opportunities.

In the tourism sector, ground-breaking for Mayfair Hotels & Resorts’s expansion project at Gopalpur, and Aspen Lake Suites LLP and Luxurio Assets Private Limited’s projects were performed. In the IT sector ground-breaking of Incture Technologies Pvt Ltd’s project was performed. Aspen Lake Suites LLP will set-up their 5-star resort facility in Barkul, Chilika, Khurda. Luxurio Assets Private Limited is also expected to come up with their resort facility in Gopalpur and Ganjam. In terms of investments, the IT & EDSM together will garner a total investment of Rs 46.79 crore while the total Tourism sector secured an investment of Rs 203.73 crore.

In the steel downstream sector, JSE Infotech Pvt. Ltd. and Nilachal Engineers will invest an amount of Rs 12.78 crore and will create 160 employment opportunities. The projects are coming up in Ramdaspur, Cuttack and in Jaymangal, Khurda respectively. JMS Medicon’s project will also come up at Ramdaspur, Cuttack with an investment of Rs 21.44 crore and is expected to generate 203 employment opportunities. IFGL Refractories Limited will likely to invest Rs 66.27 crore in their project.
