Union Home Minister, Odisha CM launched NH projects in Odisha

On 5th August 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik jointly inaugurated a series of significant development projects in Bhubaneswar, aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure and connectivity.

Among the key initiatives, the Union Minister and CM laid the foundation stone for the expansion and fortification of the Moter to Banner via Ladugaon road in the Kalahandi district of Bhubaneswar. This endeavour seeks to improve the overall transportation network in the region, benefiting both residents and travelers.

In a moment long-awaited by the local community, the prestigious four-laning project for the Kamakshyanagar-Duburi section of National Highway-53 was also officially inaugurated during the event. The project, executed under the EPC (Procurement and Construction) model, is set to enhance the capacity and efficiency of the highway, promoting smoother traffic flow and economic growth in the region.

The 51-kilometer long 4-lane Kamkhyanagar and Duburi stretch includes two major bridges, seven minor bridges, seven underpasses, two animal underpasses, and a 1.73-kilometer-long bypass, all designed to ensure seamless connectivity and safety for commuters.

One of the remarkable highlights of the project is the incorporation of wildlife-friendly measures. To facilitate the safe passage of wild animals through the stretch, two dedicated animal underpasses measuring 160 meters and 80 meters in length have been thoughtfully constructed, promoting the conservation of the local ecosystem.

The successful completion of these ambitious infrastructure projects is expected to have a transformative impact on the region’s connectivity, economic growth, and ecological balance.
