The State Level Technical Committee (STC), Orissa, has given approval to solar power projects with an aggregate power generation of 230 MW.
It includes two solar thermal power plants with a combined generation capacity of 125 MW. ACME Tele Power is likely to set up a 100 MW solar thermal power plant either in Bolangir or in Khurda district, while a 25 MW plant is to come up in Khurda district.
Besides, solar photo-voltaic power projects with an aggregate generating capacity of 105 MW have been cleared by the STC. Power plants with a combined generation capacity of 60 MW are likely to come up in six locations like Nabarangpur, Koraput, Phulbani, Bolangir, Dhenkanal and Sambalpur . Other projects include 20 MW plant at Bolangir; 5 MW at Ganjam; Abacus Holding’s 5 MW plant at Nabarangpur; 10 MW unit at Khurda; and Green O Lite’s 5 MW unit at Kalahandi.
