SJVN Green Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SVJN has signed an MoU with the Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO) on 01 December 2022.
The MoU was signed for development of projects to the tune of Rs 20,000 crore in the non-renewable energy sector in the state. The company is planning to develop Hydro power projects to the tune of 1,000 MW and Solar power projects of 2,000 MW in Odisha. The projects will be carried out through a (to be formed) Joint Venture Company.
The company will invest Rs 20,000 crore in developing these projects and expected to generate 4,207 million units (MUs) in the first year, with a total generation of around 96,797 MUs over a 25-year period. This is also expected to reduce approximately 2,06,143 tonne of carbon emissions in the first year and 47,43,053 over its entire life span.
