Odisha government is planning to over command area of about 2.0 lakh Ha through mega lift irrigation schemes under Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts on Turn Key Basis by utilizing available surplus water in different river basins.
It is planning to set up individual lift schemes to cover 500 Ha to 2000 Ha for providing irrigation facilities to rain-fed uplands close to the river on either side and also close to existing reservoirs. The state is planning to implement Dharmadandinalla and Gurandinalla lift project in Sonepur district with intake on Dharmadandinalla to feed to Sukha distributary near RD 31,200 ft to stabilize 734 Ha. and intake on Gurandinalla to feed to Dunguripalli Minor near RD 29,000 ft to stabilize 1,078 Ha. on “EPC -Turn Key” basis. The project will also involve power system connectivity and Operation & Maintenance of complete commissioned Project for five years.
The major components of the project are RCC Intake structure, RCC connecting pipe from intake well to sump well, Pump house, Rising Main/Pressure Main from pump house to delivery, Chamber(Optional), Pumping Machinety, Electro-mechanical work inside Pump House & system Networking/Switch yard/PLC includirlg connectivity from selected 132,133 kV Grid Sub-station and/or Distribution Licensee’s 33 kV network.
The state government has floated tenders for the purpose of implementation of the project with a completion period of 15 months from the date of execution.
