Vedanta Limited announced the foundation stone laying of its upcoming aluminium park in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
CM Naveen Patnaik unveiled the stone at the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 in the presence of Vedanta Chairman, Anil Agarwal on 01 December 2022. The park is a JV between Vedanta Aluminium and the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO).
The Aluminium Park will spread over around 253 acres and include world-class industrial facilities, and the downstream companies can set up their manufacturing units and draw hot metal (molten aluminium) from Vedanta’s smelter at Jharsuguda to manufacture their products. Vedanta’s aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda is having a capacity of 1.75 million tonne per annum.
The park will increase the productivity, reduce time and capital, provide technical and after-sales support and have SEZ for export-oriented industries, environmental and carbon footprint.
