NHAI completes Kamakhayanagar-Duburi NH Road Stretch

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed the 51-km-long road stretch, connecting Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district and Duburi in Jajpur district in Odisha.
The 51-km road stretch has been constructed with an investment of Rs 479 crore will help to ease the traffic congestion in the two industrial towns. Of the total 51-km stretch, 3 km service road was constructed with plastic waste using 9 Lakhs cum Fly-ash/Pond ash for embankments. It will also reduce pollution as well as pressure on quarrying for the earth materials. Two animal underpasses have also been constructed within the stretch to ensure smooth & safe highway crossings for wildlife.
Kamakhyanagar-Duburi stretch was one of three major highway projects – with a total length of 132 km – launched by Nitin Gadkari, The Union Minister for Transport, in February 2019, entailing an investment of Rs 2,345 crore. The other projects for which foundation stones were laid by Gadkari were — four-laning of 41.7 km Talcher-Kamakhyanagar section of NH 200/23 (new NH 53) and 39.4 km Duburi-Chandikhole section of NH 200 (new NH 53).
The projects include three bypasses, one flyover, 19 vehicular underpasses, nine major and 39 minor bridges and a 45 km service road.
