State nod for four projects worth Rs 1,637 crore

State Level Single Window Clearance Authority

The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) headed by Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra has approved four projects in various segments in Odisha.

The proposals will entail an investment of Rs 1,637 crore and expected to generate employment opportunities for around 1,116 person.

The four projects include:

(i)   Tata Steels’s Expansion of iron ore beneficiation plant
(ii)  Mahanadi Coalfields’ 50 MW Solar PV power generation plant
(iii) Shyam Metalics and Energy’s oxygen cylinder manufacturing plant
(iv) Shyam Metalics and Energy’s Railway wagon manufacturing plant

The SLSWCA has apporved Tata Steel’s expansion project of its iron ore beneficiation plant at Joda in Keonjhar from 12 million tpa to 17.6 million tpa. The project will entail an investment of Rs 946 crore and is likely to create additional 800 jobs.

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited’s proposed oxygen cylinder manufacturing plant with capacity of 10,80,000 cylinders per annum has also given nod. The unit to be set up in Rengali industrial estate in Sambalpur district at an investment of Rs 55 crore.

The Authority also approved another proposal of Shyam Metalics’ railway wagon manufacturing plant having capacity of 1,500 wagons per annum at Hirakud in Sambalpur district. The company plans to invest Rs 382 crore to set up the unit.

The SLSWCA has approved proposal to set up a 50 MW solar power generation plant by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited at an investment of Rs 254.71 crore in Boudh district.
